The title and certificate of Master-at-Arms shall be granted to a member who demonstrates diligence and proficiency in the skill and use of arms, weapons, and fighting skills. A member who aspires to the title of Master-at-Arms must provide verification or certification as to having proficiency in at least two combat skills. These may include rifle, pistol, shotgun, archery, unarmed fighting arts, swords, daggers, or law enforcement or military combat skills. Verification can be in the form of training certificates or letters of verification from a teacher or instructor.
Members may petition in writing to be considered a candidate for the title of Master-at-Arms. Upon provision of the due documents showing skill at arms the information shall be reviewed and judged upon as to merit. Remember that a candidate must verify skill in at least two disciplines and should maintain current proficiency through ongoing training, instructing, or current application and requirements through work or duty.
After review of the qualifications provided by the candidate, the petitioner shall be informed of the decision as to the grant of title or not.
If so judged as qualified then the petitioner shall be informed and awarded the title of Master-at-Arms of the Order of the Black Shamrock and shall be entered so on the Roll of Master-at-Arms of the Order.
